Greg Carr is a Co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of HYCO1 (2021). He also serves as Managing Director of Vector Renewables (2020), Extiel GPG (2015), and President of Gulf Process Gases (2009). He has 35 years of hydrogen, syngas, chemical process, catalyst development and commercialization, environmental technology, industrial gases, and business development experience, overlapped with 25 years of successful tech-company start-up work.
Greg spent his first decade out of school in engineering, sales, and management positions with global industrial gas leader Air Liquide, followed by four years at MIT venture startup MMT commercializing a new Waste-to-Syngas & Hydrogen technology.
He subsequently founded two information technology companies, Kinetiks and US Minerals, and as President & CEO, led Kinetiks to its successful NASDAQ IPO and US Minerals to its acquisition by Oracle Corporation. Greg joined the H2Gen management team in 2004, a Hydrogen / Syngas catalytic SMR and PSA technology (a venture-backed startup) where he spearheaded the company’s successful drive to build its first 40 Hydrogen units. Upon H2Gen’s acquisition by Air Liquide in 2009, he founded Gulf Gases.
Greg has patents in key industrial & process gas application developments while at Air Liquide, H2Gen, Gulf Gases, Extiel GPG, and HYCO1. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Southern Illinois University, where he performed four years of catalytic hydroprocess research and pilot unit operations. He completed Air Liquide’s Executive Management Business Program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
